Karaoke Mondays with Country Dan
Mon, December 22, 6:00 pm - 11:00 pm
Main Street Station, 16280 Main Street
Russian River

Price: No Cover
Dan has a TON of music in the lists but when "I" sing, it's almost always Country. "Hence the name Country Dan" Of course, YOU are more than welcome to sing any Country (or other) song in the list and I have a LOT of `em. When I started this, ages ago, it was more for ME. I bought the disks that had the songs on them that the OTHER Karaoke DJ's (KJ's) didn't have. It kind of grew from there as you'll see when you get to the song list section. I've got almost 140,000 songs listed now. There are copies of, or Dupes of several, but ALL KJ's do. As time allows I will cut it down to SONGS rather than lines in the book(s). If you sing with me and there is something you'd like to see in the list, drop me a note (E-Mail or a note in the tip jar) and I will see if I can find it. If you e-mail and don't get ANY reply in 3 days, resend your message. I have SUPER filters from hell here and they catch a bit more than I'd like once in awhile. Since buying single tracks via digital download is legal now, I cat I don't have, let me know and we'll check right then and there. Some have shown up a week or three after my first checking, so don't give up unles it's an OLD song.

Main Street Station, 16280 Main Street
Russian River

Price: $20-$35
ANNUAL NEW YEARS EVE PARTY There are many fine jazz singers based in the San Francisco Bay area but, Frankye Kelly ranks at the top. She has a wide range, both in notes and in expressive qualities, is a fine improviser and can really swing. Ms Kelly sings a wide range of standards plus the blues "Next Time You See Me" and Basia's " Astrud". There are times, particularly on "Midnight Sun" and a playful "Satin Doll", when she sounds a bit like Sarah Vaughan. But in general Frankye Kelly displays an original style that is based in the tradition. Frankye Kelly puts a lot of honest feeling into her singing. "I interpret the songs that have the most meaning to me. I have a wide range and I can sound like any horn but I feel that the voice is its own instrument. I love to be one of the instruments in my band, singing from my heart." Kelly earned Best Jazz Vocal Album, Best New Artist and Album of the Year in the 2002 Grammy Awards Entry List for "My Life, More Than It Is-Not Just The Blues". Kelly many jazz fe
